Here at SteelFreak, we manufacture and distribute top quality fabricated steel products for your hearth, home, and patio. Our mission is to help our customers get the most out of their indoor and outdoor spaces. With careful attention to detail, we design and build products that both our employees and our customers can be proud of.

Who We Are

SteelFreak's parent company, Federated Trade, was established in Kennesaw, Georgia in 2009. Our founder, Jimmy Richardson, initially formed the company with the purpose of liquidating second quality and overstock inventory online. Soon Federated Trade expanded its product line to new products. Sales grew quickly.

When the company’s largest vendor decided to discontinue production of their fire pit grates in 2011, Jimmy saw an opportunity to fill that niche. He sought out alternate manufacturers to produce a new line of fire pit grates and began selling these grates online.

By 2014, Jimmy decided it was time to start manufacturing his own products. He purchased the necessary equipment, rented a small warehouse space, and hired his uncle John - a 35 year veteran of the fireplace manufacturing industry - to manage production. What truly defines us is the team behind the metal.

Within six years the company outgrew its first, second, and third warehouses. In April of 2020 the company moved into its current 16,000 square foot facility in LaFayette, Georgia. We now have over 10 employees and are continuing to expand our product line.

Our founder Jimmy met his wife, Christin, in 2016. After some initial hesitation, Christin agreed to leave her corporate career in 2017 to run the company alongside Jimmy as a dedicated husband-and-wife team. Together, they bring a combination of fabrication finesse and professional business management to the table.

Today all of the products we sell are designed and manufactured in-house under our SteelFreak brand. We are striving to establish the brand as a market leader in home, hearth, and patio accessories with a reputation for durability and solid build quality. Our passion for our craft translates into the highest ratings from customers on every online marketplace that we sell. We are truly proud of our excellent seller feedback and product reviews. We work hard to maintain that excellence.

SteelFreak Metals opened its doors in the Summer of 2025 with a mission to be the ultimate one-stop metal shop for builders, fabricators, and artisans across North Georgia.

With locations in Marietta, GA, and LaFayette, GA, we ensure you have convenient access to a fully stocked inventory of essential materials, including sheet, bar, angle, and tube metal.

What sets us apart is our commitment to precision and quality. We utilize advanced equipment, featuring both laser and tube laser capabilities, to offer accurate cutting services.
